I'll dominate 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be streamed in real-time on the streaming platform.
Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Former two time world heavyweight champion Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive mismatch - at Miami's arena on 19 December.
Boxer's Mindset
"I will injure his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, said.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I will really want to hurt him. That's my intention."
Respectful Interaction
Despite these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - typically known for his theatrics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul instead targeted former Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "not serious" after the Cameroonian turned down a fight offer.
Targeting Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.
"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.
"I acknowledge that."
Serious Opponent
In spite of saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.
Paul's History
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since becoming pro.
He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
However, the novice is still one of boxing's biggest financial successes, consistently making massive earnings.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old anticipated a stoppage in rounds four or five and claimed he would derail the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly being planned for two years from now.
"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.
Size Difference
As the two fighters engaged in the usual face-off, with their physical disparity on show, it emphasized just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the match is truly proceeding.
